Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add the home screen widget?

Touch and hold an empty area of your home screen until the apps jiggle, tap the + in the corner, search for Strata, choose a widget size, and add it. The widget shows your pinned countdown, or the soonest one if none is pinned.

How do I choose which countdown the widget shows?

Open a countdown and turn on Pin to home screen widget. Only one countdown can be pinned at a time. If nothing is pinned, the widget automatically shows the countdown with the nearest date.

Can I count down to a specific time, not just a day?

Yes. When creating or editing a countdown, turn on Show hours, minutes, seconds and pick a time. Leave it off to count whole days only.

Can I use a photo as a background?

Yes. In a countdown's Background section, choose Photo and pick an image. Because the home screen widget can't display photos, you also pick a solid color the widget will use for that countdown.

How do I change the app theme?

Go to Settings and choose a theme: Basalt, Dacite, Obsidian, or Ash.

Where is my data stored?

All your countdowns and settings are stored locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud or any external server.

Will I lose my data if I delete the app?

Yes. Since all data is stored on your device, uninstalling the app will remove your countdowns and settings.
